Geschiedenis van Walid Rashid
Walid Rashid is met karate begonnen in 1982 in Bagdad.
Hij heeft deelgenomen aan vele kata- en kumite-toernooien volgens het Japanse Karate Associatie-systeem. Zijn examens voor de zwarte band en de hogere dan graden heeft hij succesvol afgelegd bij Japanse meesters. Hij heeft 8 jaar lang zijn land in de oorlog gediend maar stopte ook in die tijd niet met trainen of toernooien. Hij verliet Irak en ging naar een ander Arabisch land en daarna naar andere landen. Al die tijd beoefende hij karate in het land waar hij op dat moment woonde.
Uiteindelijk vestigde hij zich in Nederland en sloot hij zich aan bij SKI van Kanazawa. Hij nam deel aan vele Europese en Japanse stages en trainingen met Japanse en andere meesters als Kanazawa / Osaka / Shirai / Yahara / Sakata / Abe / Miura / Enoeda / Koga / Azano / Nagai / Mirukami / Nobuaki / Sawada. Op toernooien behaalde hij veel eerste plaatsen.
In 2021 heeft hij SKO opgericht. Dit is een officiële karateorganisatie die ook als zodanig geregistreerd is in Nederland. SKO is lid van de Karate-Do bond Nederland (KBN), zodat SKO, Walid Salih Rashid en bij SKO aangeslotenen via de Nederlandse KBN ook kunnen deelnemen aan alle toernooien van Wereld Karate Federatie.

Walid Rashid started karate in 1982 in Baghdad.
He has participated in many kata- and kumitetournaments according to the Japanese Karate Association system. He successfully passed his exams for the black belt and the higher dan degrees with Japanese masters. He served his country in the war for 8 years but also did not stop training or tournaments during that time. He left Iraq and went to another Arab country and then to other countries. All the while he practiced karate in the country where he lived at the time.
He eventually settled in the Netherlands and joined SKI from Kanazawa. He participated in many European and Japanese internships and trainings with Japanese and other masters like Kanazawa / Osaka / Shirai / Yahara / Sakata / Abe / Miura / Enoeda / Koga / Azano / Nagai / Mirukami / Nobuaki / Sawada. He won many first places in tournaments.
He founded SKO in 2021. This is an official karate organization that is also registered as such in the Netherlands. SKO is a member of the Karate-Do Association Netherlands (KBN), so that SKO, Walid Salih Rashid and SKO affiliates can also participate in all tournaments of the World Karate Federation through the Dutch KBN.
